LEGALIZATION PROCESS FOR DOCUMENT TO BE USED IN VIETNAM

The legalization process of foreign-issued document (to be used in Vietnam) differs from country to country. The Company should contact with the Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate in their home country for the specific instruction and requirement.

Basically, the “legalization process” of a document involves in following steps:

  • Notarization | This is the attestation by a Notary Office that the signature appearing on the document is true and genuine or the documents are true copies
  • Authentication | The Ministry of Foreign Affairs certifies the documents
  • Legalization | The Vietnamese embassy/consulate where the document is to be presented can now declare and accept the signature, seal or stamp appearing on the document as genuine

The final target of legalization process is to obtain the stamp sticker of Vietnam Embassy in the host country.
